With simple lines and a minimalist aesthetic, Liu Zhi Studio stands as a flexible box that embraces nature. The design principle of freedom and nature is evident throughout the entire office space. Unnecessary walls and windows have been removed to maximize the influx of natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. Folding and hidden doors and windows seamlessly connect the interior with outdoor gardens and terraces, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The use of common building materials such as cement, steel plate, glass, and paintings showcases the simplicity and elegance of the design. The project takes full advantage of the abundant sunshine and natural landscape, allowing users to draw positive energy from their surroundings and the artistic ambiance.
The riverside location of Liu Zhi Studio adds to its charm. Surrounded by river landscapes and distant mountains, the building consists of two independent three-floor structures connected by a ground floor lobby and a first-floor terrace. Additionally, a courtyard, patio, and waterside terrace provide various spaces for relaxation and interaction.
One of the design's notable challenges was the creation of the waterside dining room. To ensure its functionality during the rainy season, the designer carefully selected waterproof outdoor building materials and custom furniture. This attention to detail showcases the commitment to both aesthetics and practicality.
Liu Zhi Studio was completed in May 2019 in Ningbo, China. Its unique design and integration with nature have garnered recognition, earning the project a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award celebrates designs that exhibit technical and creative excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
Liu Zhi Studio exemplifies the harmony between architecture, nature, and human creativity. It is a space that fosters inspiration and innovation, providing a serene and flexible environment for Liu Wen and her future endeavors.
